I can't find out if bullet-resistant vests are legal (for civilians) in VA. A little clarification would be great as I expect armed voyeurs and have little confidence in their 'expertise'

I share your sentiments but it should be kept in mind that there is no such thing as "bullet-proof". Even the stuff with ceramic plates isn't bullet-proof especially against rifle rounds.
Situational awareness will be of paramount importance at this event. If it turns shitty, tactics is what will keep you alive. If the scum who have betrayed their oath turn on the crowd, better to get out than to try to be a hero.
He who runs away lives to fight another day. That is not cowardice. It is self preservation. Better to fight on our terms if it comes to that.
If the Feds go feral and start to shoot. The gloves will be coming off across this country and we will then take them at will....on our terms and on our home turf and in our timing.

KPN... agree.... the three letter word agencies monitoring this site and others like it better know that if Fibbbee or homescumsecurity or other big-gov guys starts throwing lead around, that will have been the "spark"...
The fumes are ALL OVER the country, just waiting for the spark. Im deadly serious about this, based on individuals and groups i know of and about.... Big Gov... you better not start writing checks your armor-clad security forces cant cash.... Just a friendly and truthful warning. the snake is rattling its tail... warning you to stand down....

please go and read Radley Balko's excellent article in Reason Magazine or online at THEAGITATOR.COM.
Keep in mind that the police of that area hold a sense of being beyond scrutiny. In other words, if it all turns ugly they will lie, with hold evidence, obfuscate, and generally cover their asses anyway they can.
