Will Grigg's latest is worth your time.

Lee Greenwood would disagree.

Do you?

As a former gun shop owner in Boise and having friends at the INEL in Arco, this is getting way too close to home. I even have friends who live near Mr. Grigg.
I don't know who to trust, does everyone want to work for Big Brother?

Many people think it was just the Gestapo or the SS that arrested the Jews, Gypsies, and dissidents in Germany from 1933 to 1945, but it wasn't.

Most of the arrests were accomplished by the German State Police, i.e. the civilian police forces that had been in existence for decades prior to the National Socialist take over of the German national state. In other words, SLED in South Carolina, SBI in North Carolina, and the Rangers in Texas; the equivalents to the German State Police. If there's any doubt that, after forty years of US government bribes and programs that these state agencies won't be almost as dangerous as the 100,000 armed US government thugs, that notion should be put out of your collective heads.

I'm not exactly going to rush out and read or subscribe to "The Progressive" magazine. Sure, I don't like the peace-freak getting rousted by HSS, and I think it's a really bad thing they did. But rather than get involved with the whole Iraq war thing again, I just want to know one thing. What was the guys alternative? Nobody seems to have one to letting Saddam Hussein go his merry way, but we're all supposed to fall on our knees and weep great tears of repentance over Iraq. A: You can't change what's already happened.B: I really haven't heard any viable alternatives as to what to do with the aftermath. Hint: The progressives(commies) are NOT our allies, or compadraes, and the peaceniks are not going to come up with anything useful, except as idiots.

For Sean:
While I totally disagree with Mr. Grigg's position, he has a 1st Amendment Right to hold and proclaim that view. And for those thugs to accost him and escape without publicized punishment is unacceptable. I've had enough of "we can't tell you what we did to them because it's a personnel issue, but the situation has been taken care of." It's NOT a personnel issue. It's a CRIME. And if the "Legal System" will not treat it as such, it's time for the filthy bastards to rot in hell.

God damn the pigs for what they have done to this country!

Mark, it simply doesn't compute for you to disagree with Grigg and damn the pigs. Everything he says is based on verifiable facts. As for other facts, we put Saddam in power, gave him the chemicals for the Kurds, and if the invasion was about 9 one one the Saudis would have been bombed to the stone age. What is going on has many parallels in history, 1930's propaganda, actions by dear leader, etc. The peasants didn't see it then either.

Anon@12:31,
in total agreement with you.
As we are seeing, 9 one one was the beginning of the end for us. Not from the middle east, but from D.C. All this has been a set-up for the coming martial law and obedience to Big Brother. Say what you want about the war on terror, it's all been a giant hoax. Mathematically, the odds of a bomb going off here in the last nine years and nothing has happened yet just defies all laws of probability. And the little scares with tennis shoes and underwear were to keep the masses in fear, if somebody wanted to really do something big, it would have happened! All the cops and alphabet agencies could not stop it if a determined group were to go all out.
So now we find ourselves with 10,000 new regulations to keep us safe and the masses are really digging it, for they are protected. And every one of us who values his freedom is next in line for a bus or train ride to Room 101. Hail Big Brother.

0321,

In order to control us ... they have to save us. In order to save us ... they need something or someone to save us from.

Operation Paper Clip certainly was a success.

I'm no historian, but even a cursory look at the history of the USSR, E. Germany, Nazi Germany and various other despotic regimes not only shows us where we have come from ... but where we are going.

Unfortunately, not only was Operation Paper Clip a success, but TPTB have improved upon it. And with today's technology ... well, the skies are the ... not the limit.

We are going to where no one has gone before...

This all did not happen by ... chance.

Mr Grigg is from the pacifist wing of the Libertarian herd. I agree with him on about 90% of what he says but I do not agree on his stance on Defense. Dont derail this thread by spinning off into a debate about the WOT.
It IS thats all that needs to be said. The only question we should be asking about it is what tactics are being used by both sides.

This is not the America of 1960, 1970, 1980, or 1990.

Beware! "Federale" is INDEED one. And you should probably expect his buddy "Buck Turgidson" to troll through here soon. He's merely a local pig, but a pig nonetheless who also spits on his oath of office. The stench is overwhelming.

Looks like you're getting the same level of attention as Mike! Ah, if only one could keep them busy over the holidays, the country would be FAR better off...

An Argentinian dictator gets tried and convicted -- only 34 years later. Almost posthumously.
He's called right-wing, i.e. fascist. We know the socialist Left and Right-wing fascist METHODS are the same. Right boot, left boot. When it's on your throat, it doesn't matter.
He pounded the people with the fear of a common enemy to convince them to let him suspend their rights... temporarily, I'm sure ... a surveillance/snitch state, warrantless arrests and indefinite detention of ACCUSED enemies; torture and enough "shot-while-escaping" executions of presumed political enemies to lead one to believe there were no doors on his prisons.
Totalitarianism is totalitarianism. The necessity for it in an "emergency": Argument of tyrants, creed of slaves.
The genie doesn't fit back in the bottle.

Montana jurors refuse to jury trial for possession of 1/16th of an ounce of marijuana. Prosecutors call it "mutiny."
No, it's jury nullification. It's not only constitutional, it's a juror's duty to try the law as well as the accused.
Ordinary citizens refusing to stupidly enforce stupid laws could work in our favor someday.

An enlightening essay on socialized medicine mandates and a possible 2012 Republican candidate for president. Of course we know him as Mitt "No semi-auto rifles" Romney.
