Can't we multitask and remove tyrants and terrorists at any time, any place, at home and abroad?

I can go one better:

Let's use money borrowed at ZIRP/historically anomalous rates to do so, even as some of our large creditors are saying "meh".....

It's not a "war" war in Libya because we are only launching cruise missiles at ground targets in a sovereign nation where we had been recently propping up the "dear leader", or something, right?

And while everyone whines, dances, quotes, and defines, THEY act. I don't see the point of even discussing this. We're in the place of a bunch of old people, watching their old folks home burn down, yacking about it in our bathrobes. Just my opinion, I'm sure there are different ones, but really, what are we going to do about it? Write the congress again?

This is not a NATO action, but rather a new Alliance: Did the Senate ratify the new alliance?

And of course, Congress did not Declare War.

And of course, none of the oath keepers in the military question orders contradicting their Constitution.

None of the Secret Service or FBI or other law 'enforcers' follow their oath to arrest and try citizens (President and Cabimet and Joint Cheifs) to protect and defend the Constitution against domestic enemies.

Congress and the Senate have been usurped. They have been castrated by the executive. They have been told to 'move to the back of the bus'. Is there not one Rosa Parks in Congress with any balls to stand up and demand the enumerated powers of Congress?

I agree with Sean.
We should go back to Step 1 and start bombarding our congress with letters and e-mail. I'm sure they'll understand this time.

I am the humbler Fiddler, and
I beg you call the tune...
To open future's portal, and
Invoke the Tyrant's Doom.

Take upon you your Aspect,
Of Pure and Righteous Wrath,
Raise up your Armored Attribute, of The Warrior's One True Path.

Throw down the foes of Liberty to sorrow,
As they must, to reap the
Bitter harvest as their
Dream lies in the dust.

Accept that, as your
Fathers, you'll not see
The Promised Land, but
With them you'll share the Honor of Humanity's Last Stand.

NORFED's fatal mistake was using the word "Dollar" to describe their product. They would have been OK had they simply selected an alternate word - like "Quatloos".

"Just my opinion, I'm sure there are different ones, but really, what are we going to do about it? Write the congress again?"

This is, and has always been, the issue.

Peaceful civilized means of protest and dissent have meaning and effect only when and if those receiving them - Congress, particularly - believes that 1) it is their moral duty to obey, or 2) if they disregard these expressions of opinion, the people will turn to other more drastic means to effect their will.

Neither of these is the case now.

Advocacy and raising awareness and mobilizing public opinion to exert sufficient pressure on Congress - well if it CAN work, I would be happy about that, I am open to experimental proof that it is possible - but I don't think it is. There have been sufficient cases in the past 10 - 20 - 50 years where the people, if they _were_ the proper guardians of the Constitution as the Founders imagined them to be, would have put up a fuss and absolutely insisted on a public government climbdown on one or more issues.

This has never happened. The Tea party, for all the yelling in town halls, has proven to be pure rhetoric - 61 billion in cuts out of a multi-trillion dollar budget; the government spent that much money in less time than it took to debate the bill.

If _anything_ can be "done about it" while salvaging the existing framework of this nation, that would require public support. That support doesn't exist in any concrete sense. The public insists by a wide margin that Social Security cuts are unacceptable. You try talking to people about the national debt and interest payments as a percentage of tax revenues, they get BORED, fast, and they show it. They don't want to know. This is not a public capable of exercising the responsibility of government.

The driver of the bus is drunk, and the other passengers don't want to help you to - actually, they want to forcibly prevent you from - pulling him out of the seat and taking the wheel and hitting the brakes.

No, there's not many good choices in that situation.

0321 - I just agree 1000% with the sarcasm in your post!

BIG GRIN

Sean - You're right, too. While I hope for a congressional simultaneous epiphany on the need to return to constitutional government, I think I'll see pigs fly first...and there ain't no pork in the tree tops in any weathe forecast I've read or heard....

We are at a very, very, very 'unhinged' place in our history that's been exacerbated by the Japan nuclear impact on the world economy and food supply.

Exercise for intellectual stimulation to nobody in particular except those who might have an interest: Extrapolate current national and foriegn policy coupled with constitutional observance (not much if at all) and I'm betting it won't take much for a formal, public abrogation, suspension or downright ceding of sovereignty to the UN....

We're close....really close.

Best to recognize they're going to do their games overseas no matter what.

Best also to recognize we can do our own games domestically-preferably in our own locales.

You do realize much of the tyranny heaped upon the American People comes from local tyrants right? ...So why allow them to remain in positions of PUBLIC SERVICE?

Use the emergency recall election process over... well, whatever. There's always something. Have a full slate of candidates to properly sweep your town or county offices clean.

Stop the state, feds? If you can duplicate the process in neighboring towns and counties-perhaps. It's far better odds than waiting for them to come to you. Plus you spread Freedom.
